Mom

Mom, you’re a wonderful mother,
So gentle, yet so strong.
The many ways you show you care
Always make me feel I belong.
You’re patient when I’m foolish;
You give guidance when I ask;
It seems you can do most anything;
You’re the master of every task.
You’re a dependable source of comfort;
You’re my cushion when I fall.
You help in times of trouble;
You support me whenever I call.
I love you more than you know;
You have my total respect.
If I had my choice of mothers,
You’d be the one I’d select!

Need U To Need Me

Don’t know how to explain it
Can’t really put it into words
You’ve touched my life in so many ways
You never cease to amaze me.

I don’t know what the future holds
I can’t pretend that I do
I just know beyond a doubt
I always want you around.

Whether we stay the closest of friends
Or I become the love of your life
Or maybe even both occurs
As long as your in my life I can smile.

Something about you makes me smile
Not just with my mouth
And not just with my eyes
But all the way to my soul.

Thank you for what you are to me
For being who you are
And adding happiness to this life
And giving me a reason to smile.

Why Do I Love U

Sometimes at night, when I look to the sky,
I start thinking of you and then ask myself, why?
Why do I love you? I think and smile,
because I know the list could run on for miles.
The whisper of your voice, the warmth of your touch,
so many little things that make me love you so much.
The way you support me, and help with my emotions,
the way that you care and show such devotion.
The way that your kiss, fills me with desire,
and how you hold me with the warmth of a blazing fire.
lost with you forever is were I want to be.
The way that I feel when you’re by my side,
a sense of completion and overflowing pride.
The dreams that I dream, that all involve you,
the possibilities I see and the things we can do.
How you finish the puzzle that lies inside my heart,
how that deep in my soul, you are the most important part.
I could go on for days, telling of what I feel,
but all you really must know is my love for you is real.

If I Could Turn Back Time

If I could be young once again
I would have sooner met you
and all that would have remained
is the love I have for you

If I could have just shown you
how much you mean to me
then I could have died happily
with the tears of joy in me

If I could have been your knight
brave and donned in shining armour
then I would have been your princess
and not as your friend anymore

If I could have been a stranger
and not as myself to you
then I might have had the courage
to say wholeheartedly I love you

If I could have lived my life
then you could have seen me through
because all that I had ever did
was for you to love me too

If I could have just seen tomorrow
I would have jumped ahead of time
because today it might have not ended
and today you might have been mine

What It Means to Love

As far as the ocean is wide
through miles and miles of sea;
You will be someone special
a true miracle to me.

As high upon the mountain tops
as high as one can climb;
You will be so dear to me
the best friend I can find.

As many stars that twinkle
throughout the heavens above;
You will be a a bright reminder
of what it means to love.

U complete me!!

I couldn’t have lived till now
If it wasn’t for you
I would have been so lost
Not knowing what to do

You put me together
Only now can I see
You make me what I am
You complete me

We’re two different halves
Put together, we’re one whole
Every beat of my heart is yours
Everyday I pray for your soul

It’s just your smile I need to see
When there’s no other remedy
You put me together
You complete me

I’m too scared to let you go
I never want to lose you
If you weren’t here with me
I’d never know what to do

All I feel now are joys
All my sorrows are history
What else can I say now?
It’s because you complete me.

To love a friend like u

There’s lots of things
With which I’m blessed,
Tho’ my life’s been both Sunny and Blue,
But of all my blessings,
This one’s the best:
To have a friend like you.

In times of trouble
Friends will say,
“Just ask… I’ll help you through it.”
But you don’t wait for me to ask,
You just get up
And you do it!

And I can think
Of nothing in life
That I could more wisely do,
Than know a friend,
And be a friend,
And love a friend… like you.

If that’s all it takes

You’re the bravest of hearts,
You’re the strongest of souls
You’re my light in the dark,
You’re the place I call home
You can say it’s all right,
But I know that you’re
Breaking up inside
I see it in your eyes
Even you face the night
Afraid and alone
That’s why I’ll be there

When the storm rises up,
When the shadows descend
Every beat of my heart,
Every day without end
Every second I live,
That’s the promise I make
Baby, that’s what I’ll give,
If that’s what it takes
If that’s what it takes

You can sleep in my arms,
You don’t have to explain
When your heart’s crying out,
Baby, whisper my name
‘Cause I’ve reached out for you
When the thunder is crashing up above
You’ve given me your love
When your smile like the sun
That shines through the pain
That’s why I’ll be there

When the storm rises up,
When the shadows descend
Every beat of my heart,
Every day without end
I will stand like a rock,
I will bend till I break
Till there’s no more to give,
If that’s what it takes
I will risk everything,
I will fight, I will bleed
I will lay down my life,
If that’s what you need
Every second I live,
That’s the promise I make Baby, that’s what I’ll give,
If that’s what it takes

Through the wind and the rain,
Through the smoke and the fire
When the fear rises up,
When the wave’s ever higher
I will lay down my heart,
My body, my soul
I will hold on all night
And never let go
Every second I live,
That’s the promise I make
Baby, that’s what I’ll give,
If that’s what it takes

Never thought I’d fall in love with u!!

I never thought I’d fall in love with you.
I thought someday, of course, I’d fall in love.
But what it felt like, I just never knew;
I’d no idea what I was thinking of.

And then, somewhere between my need and pleasure,
Walking neither overjoyed nor sad,
I looked into my heart and saw a treasure
Worth more than anything I’d ever had.

Ah! This is love! I thought. And then I wanted
To give my life to see your happiness.
Suddenly, from nowhere, I was haunted,
Needy, joyful, tearful, glad, obsessed.

My love for you has brought me out of me.
The beauty in your heart has set me free.

Memorable mother’s day!!

A man stopped at a flower shop to order some flowers to be wired to his mother who lived two hundred miles away.
As he got out of his car he noticed a young girl sitting on the curb sobbing.
He asked her what was wrong and she replied, “I wanted to buy a red rose for my mother.
But I only have seventy-five cents, and a rose costs two dollars.”
The man smiled and said, “Come on in with me. I’ll buy you a rose.”
He bought the little girl her rose and ordered his own mother’s flowers.
As they were leaving he offered the girl a ride home.
She said, “Yes, please! You can take me to my mother.”
She directed him to a cemetery, where she placed the rose on a freshly dug grave.
The man returned to the flower shop, canceled the wire order, picked up a bouquet and drove the two hundred miles to his mother’s house.

The wooden bowl

A frail old man went to live with his son, daughter-in-law, and a four-year old grandson. The old man’s hands trembled, his eyesight was blurred, and his step faltered. The family ate together nightly at the dinner table. But the elderly grandfather’s shaky hands and failing sight made eating rather difficult. Peas rolled off his spoon onto the floor. When he grasped the glass often milk spilled on the tablecloth. The son and daughter-in-law became irritated with the mess. “We must do something about grandfather,” said the son. I’ve had enough of his spilled milk, noisy eating, and food on the floor. So the husband and wife set a small table in the corner. There, grandfather ate alone while the rest of the family enjoyed dinner at the dinner table. Since grandfather had broken a dish or two, his food was served in a wooden bowl. Sometimes when the family glanced in grandfather’s direction, he had a tear in his eye as he ate alone. Still, the only words the couple had for him were sharp admonitions when he dropped a fork or spilled food. The four-year-old watched it all in silence.

One evening before supper, the father noticed his son playing with wood scraps on the floor. He asked the child sweetly, “What are you making?” Just as sweetly, the boy responded, “Oh, I am making a little bowl for you and mama to eat your food from when I grow up.” The four-year-old smiled and went back to work. The words so struck the parents that they were speechless. Then tears started to stream down their cheeks. Though no word was spoken, both knew what must be done. That evening the husband took grandfather’s hand and gently led him back to the family table.

For the remainder of his days he ate every meal with the family. And for some reason, neither husband nor wife seemed to care any longer when a fork was dropped, milk spilled, or the tablecloth soiled. Children are remarkably perceptive. Their eyes ever observe, their ears ever listen, and their minds ever process the messages they absorb. If they see us patiently provide a happy home atmosphere for family members, they will imitate that attitude for the rest of their lives. The wise parent realizes that every day that building blocks are being laid for the child’s future.

A box full of kisses

The story goes that some time ago, a man punished his 3-year-old daughter for wasting a roll of gold wrapping paper. Money was tight and he became infuriated when the child tried to decorate a box to put under the Christmas tree. Nevertheless, the little girl brought the gift to her father the next morning and said, “This is for you, Daddy.”

The man was embarrassed by his earlier overreaction, but his anger flared again when he found out the box was empty. He yelled at her, stating, “Don’t you know, when you give someone a present, there is supposed to be something inside? The little girl looked up at him with tears in her eyes and cried, “Oh, Daddy, it’s not empty at all. I blew kisses into the box. They’re all for you, Daddy.”

The father was crushed. He put his arms around his little girl, and he begged for her forgiveness.

Only a short time later, an accident took the life of the child. It is also told that her father kept that gold box by his bed for many years and, whenever he was discouraged, he would take out an imaginary kiss and remember the love of the child who had put it there.

The unread Bible

A young man was getting ready to graduate college. For
many months he had admired a beautiful sports car in a dealer’s
showroom, and knowing his father could well afford it, he told
him that was all he wanted.

As Graduation Day approached, the young man awaited
signs that his father had purchased the car. Finally, on the
morning  of his graduation his father called him into his private
study. His father told him how proud he was to have such a fine
son, and  told him how much he loved him. He handed his son
a beautiful   wrapped gift box.

Curious, but somewhat disappointed the young man
opened the box and found a lovely, leather-bound Bible. Angrily,
he raised his voice at his father and said, “With all your money you
give  me  a Bible?” and stormed out of the house, leaving the holy
book.

Many years passed and the young man was very successful in
business.
He had a beautiful home and wonderful family, but realized his
father was very old, and thought perhaps he should go to him. He
had   not seen him since that graduation day. Before he could make
arrangements, he received a telegram telling him his father had
passed away, and willed all of his possessions to his son. He
needed   to come home immediately and take care things.
When he arrived at  his father’s house, sudden sadness and
regret filled his heart.

He began to search his father’s important papers and
saw the still new Bible, just as he had left it years ago. With
tears,  he opened the Bible and began to turn the pages. As he
read those   words, a car key dropped from an envelope
taped behind the Bible.
It  had a tag with the dealer’s name, the same dealer who had the
sports  car he had desired. On the tag was the date of his graduation,
and the words…PAID IN FULL.

How many times do we miss God’s blessings because they are not
packaged as we expected?

Judge me by the foot prints i leave behind

A story is told about a soldier who was finally coming home after having fought in Vietnam. He called his parents from San Francisco.  “Mom and Dad, I’m coming home, but I’ve got a favor to ask. I have a friend I’d like to bring with me.”
“Sure,” they replied, “we’d love to meet him.”
“There’s something you should know,” the son continued. “He was hurt pretty badly in the fighting. He stepped on a land mine and lost an arm and a leg. He has nowhere else to go, and I want him to come live with us.”
“I’m sorry to hear that, son.  Maybe we can help him find somewhere to live.”
“No, Mom and Dad, I want him to live with us.”
“Son,” said the father, “you don’t know what you’re asking. Someone with such a handicap would be a terrible burden on us. We have our own lives to live, and we can’t let something like this interfere with our lives. I think you should just come home and forget about this guy. He’ll find a way to live on his own.”
At that point, the son hung up the phone.
The parents heard nothing more from him. A few days later, however, they received a call from the San Francisco police. Their son had died after falling from a building, they were told. The police believed it was suicide. The grief-stricken parents flew to San Francisco and were taken to the city morgue to identify the body of their son. They recognized him, but to their horror they also discovered something they didn’t know, their son had only one arm and one leg.
The parents in this story are like many of us. We find it easy to love those who are good-looking or fun to have around, but we don’t like people who inconvenience us or make us feel uncomfortable. We would rather stay away from people who aren’t as healthy, beautiful, or smart as we are.
Thankfully, there’s someone who won’t treat us that way. Someone who loves us with an unconditional love that welcomes us into the forever family, regardless of how messed up we are. Tonight, before you tuck yourself in for the night, say a little prayer that God will give you the strength you need to accept people as they are, and to help us all be more understanding of those who are different from us!!!
There’s a miracle called Friendship that dwells in the heart. You don’t know how it happens or when it gets started. But you know the special lift. It always brings and you realize that Friendship Is God’s most precious gift! Friends are a very rare jewel, indeed. They make you smile and encourage you to succeed. They lend an ear, they share a word of praise, and they always want to open their hearts to us. Show your friends today how much you care.

Two types of friends- real and simple

A simple friend has never seen you cry.

A real friend has shoulders soggy from your tears.

A simple friend doesn’t know your parents’ first names.

A real friend has their phone numbers in his address book.

A simple friend brings a bottle of wine to your party.

A real friend comes early to help you cook and clean.

A simple friend hates it when you call after he has gone to bed.

A real friend asks you why you took so long to call.

A simple friend seeks to talk with you about their problems.

A real friend seeks to help you with your problems.

A simple friend wonders about your romantic history.

A real friend could blackmail you with it.

A simple friend, when visiting, acts like a guest.

A real friend opens your refrigerator and helps himself.

A simple friend thinks the friendship is over when you have an argument.

A real friend knows that it’s not a friendship until after you’ve had a fight.

A simple friend expects you to always be there for them.

A real friend expects to always be there for you!

Through thick and thin

I could skip a heartbeat, and I would survive,
I could be in a car crash, and still be alive.
The clouds could fall out of the sky,
The oceans could disappear, and all turn dry.

These things in life are all bad I know,
but there’s far worse things,
just thought you should know.

Life would not be the same without someone like you,
You’re there when I need you to help me through.
Through the good times and through the bad,
Be them happy, or be them sad.

I don’t have to be with you, to know you’re there,
We don’t have to see each other, to know that we care.
We could be apart for years upon end,
and still remain the best of friends.

Life goes on, and people change,
And through it all, our friendship shall remain the same.
That’s such as a life, and how things come to be.
Just thought you should know,
HOW MUCH YOU MEAN TO ME.

Stand by me

For years, I have given chase
For a love that stays
From a lover I can trustingly embrace
Who loves me in a thousand different ways.

I want a person who has much grace
With a character that conveys
That strength and kindness are in place
Together with love that never betrays.

Would it happen again now in this case
That you will end up as a lover who strays
Are you that genuine loving face
That will stand by me throughout my days.
