Purple To Me

Purple is the color
Of a cold winter day
And purple is
Sad in a happy sort
Of way.

Purple makes you think
Of a very deep ocean,
A mysterious thought or
A purple love potion.

Purple is the color of
A cloud in your dreams,
Purple is the color
of a sight unseen.

Purple is the feeling
That’s deep down inside
The color of your hear
Right before you

Purple to me
is a sister to blue
And a mother to pink
And a color to you.

Blue Rhythm

Blue are the tears
On my saddest day,
Blue is the ocean
To wash them away.

Blue is the sapphire
That glows in the light,
Blue is the moon
that shines at night.

Blue sounds like sad music
Mellow and low,
Blue is the bruise
On my big toe.

Blue tastes like a hot meal
On a rainy day,
Blue is the feeling of
A spring day in May.

Blue is the rhythm
Of beating drums,
Blue is the sound
Of annoying hums.

Blue is a very good
Color you see,
Blue is the rhythm
of you and me!

When It Rains

Rain drops falling in my head,
and never knowing when it will end.
Should I run for cover,
or let another rain drop fall in my head again?
I would love to dance in the rain,
and knowing somehow it’ll help erase the pain.
Sometimes when I’m all alone,
and I see rain drops are falling outside again.
There’s happiness that I feel because rain is here once again.
Some may feels gloomy when it rains
and some just want to feel it in their hand.
But me I just love it when rain drops falls into my face.
Oh the magic that rain brings, it makes you feel unique.
It may bring you sadness, wet feeling in toes and clothes
but I just see happiness when it rains.

A ruined old castle’s lament

Majestically i stood in the days of kings

watching the birds fly with out-stretched wings

many a happy hour the king spent in my tower

gazing at the garden filled with many a flower.

but now I stand as a ruined old castle

longing for the bygone hustle and bustle

oh! how I wish the old days would come back

with tiny princes singing rhymes of Jill and Jack

ignored now I stand on a land so parched

cherishing the memories of days when knights marched

now I am worthless overgrown with weeds

to me the modern world pays no heed

but, don’t forget, once I stood majestically indeed.

April showers

The leaves are fresh after the rain

the air is cool and clear

the sun is shining warm again,

the sparrows hopping by the lane

are brisk and full of cheer

and that is why we dance and play

and that is why we sing

calling out in voices gay

“we will not go to school today;

nor learn anything”

it’s a happy thing I say

to be alive on such a day..
